NGSDCA Breeder Ethics
Welcome to the NGSDCA Breeder Ethics Page. Here, we outline the ethical standards that all members of our club must adhere to when breeding dogs. We believe that responsible breeding is crucial to the health and well-being of our beloved dogs, and we take this responsibility very seriously.
As a member of the NGSDCA, we expect you to follow these guidelines:
1. All breeding dogs must be healthy and screened for any genetic defects or illnesses that can be passed on to their offspring.
2. Only breed dogs that are over 2 years old and have been health tested for any genetic disorders.
3. Breeders should only breed from dogs with good temperaments that are suitable for family pets.
4. Breeders should ensure they have suitable homes for their puppies before they breed them.
5. Breeders should provide their puppies with a clean, safe, enriching, and comfortable environment until they are ready to go to their new homes.
6. All puppies should be socialized from an early age so that they grow up to be well-adjusted pets.
7. Breeders should provide full disclosure of any known health issues or genetic disorders in the dog's lineage.
8. Breeders should follow all laws and regulations regarding dog breeding in their local area.
9. All advertisements for puppies should be honest and accurate in describing the puppy's temperament, health status, and breed characteristics.
10. No member shall knowingly sell or place any puppy/dog into an abusive or neglectful situation
Breaking any of these ethical guidelines will result in immediate forfeiture of membership with NGSDCA. We take these guidelines seriously because we believe that responsible breeding is essential for maintaining the health and happiness of our furry friends.
If you see any member violating these guidelines or have any concerns about a breeder's practices, please reach out to us immediately so that we can investigate the matter appropriately.
Thank you for your dedication to ethical dog breeding!
